21 Jump Street

Going into this movie all I knew was it was originally a late eighties early nineties TV show starring Johnny Depp.
I loosely knew what the premise was based on the previews/commercials.
That being said, my point of view is solely based on the movie; I obviously cannot compare the movie to the TV series.

This movie was hilarious.
The banter between Channing Tatum and Jonah hill was predictably funny, but was executed in a way that was unique and unexpected.
Channing Tatum as a handsome angsty young adult and Jonah Hill as the fat funny kid who strives to be popular.
But execution was everything and made this movie different.
It felt as if the writers knew the type-casting strengths of both actors.

The pace was great, it sucked me in and I forgot that I was in a movie theatre.
I didn’t catch any lulls or parts that dragged on, or any that stood out enough for me to remember.
I caught myself laughing at the little details that weren’t shoved in your face – kudos to the general zod reference.

So, go watch the movie and laugh, even if you hate Channing Tatum or Jonah Hill; give them another chance. I feel it’s worth the movie ticket, refillable loyalty cup, and one time refill large popcorn.
